Our Sister Sol staff members hosted their annual Alumni Homecoming this past Saturday, celebrating their theme ‘R.O.O.T.S’ - Recognizing Our Origins Through Sisterhood. Alumnae from all Sister Sol chapters reconnected through an evening of games, conversation, and networking. The celebration honored over 25 years of sisterhood and legacy.⁠

Sister Sol takes on the Museum of Arts and Design!⁠

Recently, our members went through a MADlab workshop which allowed them to talk in depth with a museum educator about the exhibition, Barbie: A Cultural Icon. The educator helped our young people see Barbie's impacts on U.S. cultural history, diversity, and notions of girlhood through a critical lens. For example, together they tracked diversity and inclusion within the designs and manufacturing of Barbie products from the 1960's to present day.⁠

The workshop concluded with an interactive art making session, during which our members used various art supplies, textiles, and fabrics to make their own Barbie designs. Thank you @madmuseum for creating an educational and enjoyable experience for our Sister Sol members!⁠

We’re back rested, rejuvenated, and ready to embrace everything this new year has to offer us!⁠

Before heading out for our holiday break, the entire BroSis team closed out the year together through a day of staff bonding. We tried our hands at pottery, treated ourselves to self-care, engaged in conversation around a firepit, and closed out the evening with a feast. ⁠

We are grateful for the memories made and excited for what’s ahead. Here’s to another year of collaboration and growth!⁠
