This week marked the season opening of our BroSis

This week marked the season opening of our BroSis Green Youth Market!

Since 2013, our Youth-Led Green Market has opened each season with the same belief at its core: healthy food is a right. From May through November, our youth and alum leaders work to bring fresh, affordable, local produce to a community too often impacted by food apartheid and limited access to healthy food options.

Why this work continues to matter:
🌱 Youth leaders gain hands-on experience in leadership and food justice
🌱 Neighbors have access to high-quality fruits & vegetables that should be available in every community
🌱 Families can purchase seasonal produce at low-cost during a time when grocery prices remain high
🌱 The market creates a direct connection between young people and the needs of their community

At BroSis, we continue stepping in to help fill these widening gaps and provide immediate, tangible support.

Because when resources disappear, communities still need care. And when families are overlooked, we keep showing up.

Yesterday, BroSis hosted our annual Community Heal

Yesterday, BroSis hosted our annual Community Health & Resource Fair in partnership with @VituityCares - bringing together health services, community resources, food, and entertainment for our members and neighbors, all free of charge. Thank you to the BroSis Wellness team for pulling together such a purposeful event.

Together, we:
• Served 500+ community members
• Provided meals for 450 people
• Conducted 80 medical screenings
• Completed 10 STI screenings - up from 2 last year

A huge thank you to @BeenaMinhaj for her continued partnership and commitment to ensuring our community receives the care and support it deserves. And special thanks to our 2024 Voices Gala host, @HasanMinhaj, for joining us and spending time with our youth members.

We’re also deeply grateful to all of our incredible vendors and partners who showed up despite the heat wave:
