About the photograph:

Our International Study Program cohort of 20 youth members departing for their month-long journey.

As our summer begins, we at The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis) are committed to ensuring our youth members experience a fulfilling season filled with enriching activities. These include community organizing training, writing workshops, college prep, workforce development, health and wellness activities, community gardening, arts programming, and a month-long international study experience to Brazil. We understand how crucial the summer months are for young people to remain engaged and intellectually stimulated.

This summer, some highlights include:

Our Culinary Program, an initiative that teaches the importance of healthy eating. Our summer activities will keep our members nourished and educated on balanced diets, with youth organizers also advocating for food justice. Additionally, our culinary team provides over 250 meals daily for our members.

Our Environmental Program educates youth on maintaining and respecting the environment. Participants will engage in a paid internship program focusing on sustainable design, horticultural science, and food empowerment. Our young people also facilitate a weekly youth-led farmers market, bringing over 5,000 lbs of food to more than 2,000 community residents each season.

For our youngest members, we offer a seven-week Summer Camp, which includes day camp and a culminating sleep-away experience. Guided by our passionate team of youth development experts, many of whom are BroSis alums, our campers will experience New York as a vibrant, city-wide classroom, ending with a magical three-day-two night-long sleep-away camping experience.

We invite you to contribute to our essential work this summer. Our programs inspire young thinkers and leaders to advocate for themselves and their communities, fight against systemic inequality, and champion a healthier and more equitable environment.

Your generous donation will help us:

  • Equip young people with valuable skills and knowledge about health and nutrition.
  • Support our Environmental Program to help our youth understand environmental issues and drive change.
  • Sustain and improve our youth-led farmers market, which supports valuable entrepreneurial skills and brings quality produce to a food desert.
  • Support our Summer Day Camp and reduce the summer opportunity and access gaps that too many young people face.

Donate today and help BroSis ensure that our young people gain the knowledge they need to make their world a better place. Your contribution, large or small, will make a significant impact.

Can we count on your generosity to continue our mission of shaping a world where every youth member gets a chance to thrive and succeed?
