About the photograph:

Summer Day Campers engaging in the Toyota Mini Makers Garage STEM event.

At The Brotherhood Sister Sol, our summer programming has provided nearly 350 youth members, ages 8 through 18, with unforgettable, enriching, and transformative experiences. Through a blend of educational activities and adventurous outings, our members have built skills, confidence, and lasting memories. Highlights include a career panel event with NYRR, our youth-led farmers market, meeting Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo at Yankee Stadium, and engaging in STEM learning at the Toyota Mini Makers event.

Members explored “Futurism: Self-Identity. Building Community” through museum and gallery visits and studio sessions with artists like Derek Fordjour. They delved into media arts with a music video masterclass and visited the Manhattan Neighborhood Network to learn about public access television, while cultural trips included diverse media and visual arts excursions.

Through these varied experiences, our summer programming exposes youth to new possibilities, providing invaluable education, access, and opportunities.
