#BroSisRising: A Community Celebration

Thanks to everyone who joined us for #BroSisRising: A Community Celebration, our virtual fundraiser to celebrate our work over the past year, the rise of our new home, and our milestone anniversary – over 25 years of standing with young people to build the future they want to see.
We are thrilled to share that #BroSisRising was a huge success! Hundreds of viewers joined us to celebrate our work and thanks to all of you, we raised over $1.2 million to support the young men and women of The Brotherhood Sister Sol.
We were delighted to have #BroSisRising honoree U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock from Georgia join us and share an inspirational message to all young people along with artist and activist Rosario Dawson, a stalwart supporter of BroSis and co-founder of VotoLatino. Together they emphasized the essential participation of youth leaders in the movement for social justice and the importance of youth not just surviving but thriving.
#BroSisRising also included appearances by BroSis friends Bobby Canavale, Rose Byrne, Carrie Mae Weems, Tamron Hall, Questlove, Kevin Durant, Zora Howard, and The Peace Poets.

Each year, BroSis holds a fundraising event – Voices – in celebration of our youth, our life changing programming, and our commitment to justice. Voices provides a platform for our members to share their personal journeys, often through spoken word performances.
This year, we’ve rebranded with a virtual event – #BroSisRising – that celebrates our work over the past year, the rise of our new home, and our milestone anniversary – over 25 years of standing with young people to build the future they want to see. Celebrate with us – virtually – as we share our stories and celebrate an exciting new chapter: a 20,000 square foot beacon to educate young people, organize for justice, and train educators and organizers.
