Winter Sims

Environmental Program Facilitator

A true advocate for the natural world, Winter has dedicated her professional life to bridging the gap between the natural world and urban communities. As a seasoned educator, Winter served as an Urban Park Ranger with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, imparting environmental wisdom to city dwellers eager to connect with nature. Winter also worked as a Farm Program Coordinator at Down Bottom Farms, an urban sanctuary nestled in Newark, NJ. In these positions Winter has: developed environmental and botany focused curriculum, co designed programming around racial justice, environmental justice, community organizing and regenerative farming; overseen a 10-week internship program for 20 HS students; and was involved in marketing and communications.  

Winter holds a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Science and Leadership Development from Penn State University and is pursuing her Masters of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Maryland.
