Two years ago, Michael Kimmelman wrote a feature about BroSis’ new building and deemed it an “instant landmark.” Kimmelman is the architecture critic of The New York Times and the founder and editor-at-large of Headway, a team of journalists at the Times focused on “large global challenges and paths to progress”.
Kimmelman recently returned to BroSis to see how the building is operating and to understand how it has allowed us to increase our work in food access, deepen mental health support, and expand our environmental work, focusing on bringing composting solutions citywide. He also wanted to write about how we are navigating and responding to the policies of the current federal administration.
“Three years after opening its visual jolt of a new headquarters, the Brotherhood Sister Sol has become even more of a haven for the young people it serves.”
