Today was a slow day. We had a 12 hour bus ride from Trinidad to Santiago de Cuba. It was pretty boring. Not much to say about the trip. A lot of sleeping and reflecting as well as watching movies. We watched The Green Book, Fighting with My Family and half of House Party. The Green Book was pretty interesting. Once we landed in Santiago we went to the hotel where we had dinner. The dinner was subpar. They didn’t have a lot of options and there were flies everywhere. At first I was annoyed that we were eating it, but then Jason helped me realized that this food is the reality of a lot of Cubans and some may never taste food like that. It’s ironic really, in the U.S., the poor have a disdain and stereotypical view of rich people being snobby, but I’ve found myself being snobby certain times during this trip.
