Wendy Flores

Environmental Program Facilitator

Wendy Flores holds a BA in Biological Science from Rutgers University and a Masters in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology from Columbia University. Wendy most recently worked as an Organics Outreach Associate in Partnership with the New York Department of Sanitation for Big Reuse.

At Big Reuse she create and maintained a network of community partners and academic institutions, presented to the general public on the program and worked in outreach. She has worked at the Student Conservation Association where she maintained relationships and collaborated with partners to facilitate outdoor projects for high school members.

She has also worked as a researcher for Columbia University where she designed and conducted door-to-door household surveys that collected food consumption pattern information, organized and led interviews with government officials and other stakeholders, and created a report to assess fisheries management effectiveness in stabilizing food security in Belize.

Wendy has volunteered at Harlem Grown where she led educational tours, at Women in Science at Columbia where she served as an experiment leader and at the Read Ahead Program where she helped young children read books.
