Austin Greene

Director of Arts and Organizing

Austin joins us with over 30 years of experience as an educator, activist, artist, and non-profit leader. His career has been defined by a deep commitment to the intersection of art, social justice, and youth development.

Most recently, Austin served on the senior leadership team as the Director of the DreamYard Arts Center, where he led strategic vision, managed a $1M+ budget, and launched the Community Organizing and Special Initiatives (COSI) Program. During his tenure at DreamYard, Austin also served as a Social Justice Pedagogy Coach, developing curricula that empowered Black and Latinx youth to merge creative arts with community activism. Notably, Austin was instrumental in transforming the Art Center into a vital community hub for food and technology distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also managed 15 arts centers for teenagers and oversaw evaluation and assessments. Austin worked at DreamYard for nearly 20 years.

Austin has been a teaching artist at Equity Allies, A.C.T.I.O.N. Project, and MOCADA.

Beyond his professional roles, Austin’s dedication to community liberation is reflected in over 20 years of leadership with the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement. His work has spanned international solidarity missions to the People’s Self-Defense campaign and the New Afrikan Scouts. Austin also spent thirteen years sustaining the Little Maroons Childcare Cooperative, an African-centered educational model operated out of their own home.

At BroSis, Austin will oversee the integration of our arts programming and organizing efforts, ensuring our youth continue to amplify their voices and strengthen their tools for social change.
