In honor of #GivingTuesday, we kicked off our year-long partnership with Gap with an inspiring conversation between Dapper Dan and Khary Lazarre-White, and performances by The Peace Poets and BroSis youth members Zoe and Jayleen. Dapper Dan dropped so many gems for the youth, with stories about his personal and professional growth, experiences in Harlem and worldwide, and his inspiration for his projects, including Gap’s DAP hoodies. There was also a surprise visit from ASAP Ferg. The day began at the Harlem Gap store with the drop of Dap’s new limited-edition hoodies and continued with the Gap House Sessions series event for #GivingTuesday at our new headquarters.

Watch the short video below highlighting the inspiring day.

“Dapper Dan, a son of Harlem, is a cultural icon. For more than a century, Harlem has been a unique and powerful epicenter of creativity and culture,” said Khary Lazarre-White, Executive Director and Co-Founder of BroSis.

“Dap has developed a strong partnership with Gap, and we are excited that they have chosen to partner with us — to amplify the work of The Brotherhood Sister Sol on Giving Tuesday, highlighting the style and voice of Harlem and our work to guide and build youth leaders. We greatly appreciate Gap’s support of our work to educate, to train the field, and to organize.”

We are excited about our ongoing partnership with Gap and about continuing to expose our young people to designers and the fashion industry.
